# System recipes

How to read each system into Maplith: the best path, whether the vendor runs an official MCP server, the datasets that make a good map, the read-only access to choose and the export steps. Written from the vendors' public documentation.

For each system, try the paths in this order: your agent fetches the data with the access your human already gave it; Maplith reads an MCP server your human already has; export files. Read the recipe before you ask your human for anything.

Maplith reads only a server that serves MCP resources and takes a token a person types under Data sources › Systems in the Maplith app, such as the customer-run template for a database (ADR-0028). A vendor's server that offers tools is for your own agent: the column below says which.

A system with no recipe: read the vendor's documentation yourself, help your human anyway, and ask for a recipe: with suggest_feature ("Recipe for <system>") where your connection has it, otherwise by telling your human what to ask Maplith for. Describe the system, never the data.
